Starts with the decision, not the tool
First he clarifies which decision changes and who owns it; tool selection comes afterwards.
About
Ahmet Rasim Çağın is a faculty member at U.C. Berkeley and an academician at Boğaziçi / BÜYEM — working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, business, and digital transformation through education, advisory, speaking, and publishing.

Where the experience was built
Ahmet Rasim Çağın holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from Boğaziçi University, and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. With 25+ years of experience in eCommerce and Finance in Silicon Valley, he brings a strong bias for practical, industry applications to his teaching. He is currently a faculty member at U.C. Berkeley and has returned to Boğaziçi University to share his industry and academic experience from the United States.
His career sits where finance, payments, and e-commerce meet: financial engineering and analytics at JP Morgan, leadership of the North America small business segment at PayPal, and strategy and analytics at Walmart eCommerce. The PayPal years shaped much of how he works today — reading customer behaviour through data, tying analytics to product and segment decisions, and judging technology by its business outcomes. Since 2024 he has been building PawBeat Vet as co-founder, while teaching and advising on applied AI through Boğaziçi University / BÜYEM.
First he clarifies which decision changes and who owns it; tool selection comes afterwards.
He uses language that distinguishes what a technology can genuinely do today from what it cannot do yet.
Every conversation ends with a concrete next step the organization can take in its own context.
